Socrates. One of the greatest philosophers to date. He was born in Athens. It is perhaps not particularly well known that before he followed the path of philosophy he was a sculptor. His acquaintance with Archelaus, however, was enough to convince him that philosophy was what suited him. The methods he used during his teaching, apart from his well-known quotes, are rules of rhetoric even today. The dialectic (dialogue with his interlocutors), the "Socratic irony" (declaring ignorance with irony of issues), the "obstetrics" (to lead his interlocutors through his supposed ignorance of his truth). The knowledge we have today about the great philosopher comes from the works of Plato.
